Chocolate Lily

The Chocolate Lily is a charming, tufted native perennial grass-like herb growing up to 1 meter tall during its flowering phase. In spring and summer, it shoots up slender stems bearing delicate violet flowers that give off a distinct, delicious chocolate scent, followed by edible tubers traditionally used as a native food source. It thrives as an understory plant in sunny gardens or shady spots, and safely dies back to its roots in winter before returning.
