Prostrate Banksia

The Prostrate Banksia is a unique, completely ground-hugging native shrub that stays under 30cm high but spreads up to several meters wide. It features spectacular, deeply divided, dark green upright leaves that resemble fern fronds, with large, reddish-pink cylindrical flower spikes rising directly from the ground in spring. It makes an extraordinary living mulch or groundcover for sunny slopes and rockeries, and it adapts well to trailing out of large outdoor pots.
