Hairy Sweet Bursaria

The Hairy Sweet Bursaria is a hardy, rigid native shrub growing 1.5 to 2.5 meters tall, named for the fine, downy hairs on its small leaves and young stems. In summer, it produces dense, showy clusters of sweetly fragrant white flowers followed by attractive, bronze handbag-shaped seed pods. Its slightly spiny branches make it an exceptional security hedge or privacy screen that provides safe bird-nesting habitats.
