Gorse Bitter Pea

The Gorse Bitter Pea is an exceptionally rigid, densely branched native shrub growing 1 to 2.5 meters tall, completely covered in short, intensely sharp, thorn-like branchlets. In spring, it becomes highly decorative, covered in masses of small yellow and brick-red pea flowers. Its primary landscape value is as an impenetrable security barrier or low privacy screen, serving as an absolute safe-haven habitat where tiny native birds can live and nest completely protected from predators.
