Ruby Saltbush

The Ruby Saltbush is a delightful, highly resilient native shrub that forms a soft, sprawling mound roughly 50cm to 1 meter high. It features fine, fleshy, cylindrical blue-grey leaves covered in downy silver hairs, and produces a near non-stop display of tiny, berry-like fleshy fruits that transition through a kaleidoscope of bright yellow, orange, and deep ruby-red colors. These sweet fruits are edible for humans and a favorite for native birds, and the plant thrives in hot, dry, sun-baked spots.
