Blue Devil

The Blue Devil is an extraordinary, highly architectural native perennial herb that grows roughly 30cm to 60cm high. In spring and summer, it transforms into an absolute showstopper, producing heavily branched, spiky stems topped with spectacular, metallic electric-blue thistle-like flower heads surrounded by a ruff of rigid, prickly bracts. It attracts an abundance of native bees and butterflies, loves sun-baked clay or rocky positions, and safely dies back to a tuber in winter before exploding with color next spring.
