Silky Oak

The Silky Oak is the largest of all grevilleas in the world, growing into a grand, fast-growing native tree that easily surpasses 3 meters, frequently reaching majestic heights of 15 to 30 meters. It features a sturdy trunk with deeply furrowed grey bark and an open canopy of large, fern-like dark-green foliage. In late spring, the entire tree puts on a breathtaking show, becoming completely smothered in massive, toothbrush-like golden-orange flower spikes packed with nectar[cite: 27].
