Murnong / Yam Daisy

Murnong or the Yam Daisy is a historic, highly significant native perennial herb forming a neat rosette of narrow, linear green leaves under 30cm in height. In spring and summer, it shoots up long, slender stems topped with solitary, bright golden-yellow dandelion-like flower heads that nod gracefully in the breeze. It develops sweet, edible tuberous roots, thrives in well-drained sunny positions, and works beautifully in low borders or pots.
